Mission & Strategy

Where we are going and how we will get there.

Mission Statement

"To build a legitimate, sustainable, and internationally recognised national football programme for the Marshall Islands — while using the sport to advocate for our nation's survival in the face of climate change."

2030 Strategy

Six Strategic Pillars

01

FIFA Recognition

Achieve OFC or AFC membership and full FIFA recognition for the Marshall Islands men's and women's national teams by 2030.

02

1,000 Registered Players

Reach 1,000 active registered players across all inhabited atolls through Project 1,000 Players — making football accessible island-wide.

03

Domestic League

Establish a sustainable domestic football league (MISL) that provides regular competitive football year-round for Marshallese players.

04

Coach Education

Train a network of locally-qualified coaches across the archipelago, delivering OFC and FAW-accredited coaching courses to grow the game sustainably.

05

Climate Advocacy

Use football as a platform to amplify the Marshall Islands' climate crisis — engaging international audiences, partners, and policymakers.

06

Diaspora Connection

Build bridges with Marshallese communities in the United States, New Zealand, and across the Pacific — connecting the diaspora to the national programme.

Our Values

Community First

Football as a vehicle for community building, cultural pride, and youth development across the atolls.

Resilience

Operating against the odds — geographic isolation, limited infrastructure, climate threat — and choosing to see these as the story, not the obstacle.

Inclusivity

Men's and women's football developed with equal commitment. The diaspora is part of the team.

Transparency

A volunteer-led organisation accountable to the Marshallese people and the global community that supports us.

Can you help us?

The MISF is completely self-funded. Help us provide opportunities to young Marshallese players by contributing to our fundraiser.
